Hello Year 5! The weather hasn’t been quite as glorious this last week, but we hope you have still had a nice week, doing lots of different things at home.
For this week’s home learning, in addition to the usual Maths and English, there is also some Science, RE, French and a Picture News activity . We hope you enjoy these activities this week and remember to show us what you’ve been up to on Seesaw! We really do love receiving your messages and videos.

A message to Parents/Carers: Whilst there are a range of activities available here for your child, please note that there is no expectation for them all to be completed. We encourage the children to do as much as they can, but we also recognise the challenges that come with home learning and appreciate that children are following their own interests during this time, which is also great to see!

As mentioned in the English overview, here is a bank of spelling resources which might be useful to help your child practise spelling generally, or do a little bit of writing, at home. There are quite a few documents, so please do not feel there is any expectation to complete them all. You may choose to print one to start off with this week, and work through them slowly. The first document is a useful checklist for the Year 5/6 spelling list.

French
French this week involves thinking about expressing feelings using emojis and also thinking about masculine and feminine forms of adjectives. Work your way through the PPT and then complete the tasks given.

Picture News
This picture news activity is a special addition which invites conversation at home over the Black Lives Matter movement, which has been prominent in the news recently. This resource should be viewed or accessed with an adult, due to the discussion it might provoke.
