Year 3 and Year 4
Week commencing 30th March 2020
Please note, that although hard copies are not available in school it is possible for the children to write the answers on a piece of paper, use the exercise books that were handed out or discuss the answers orally.
Below, we have provided a list of some practical ideas that don’t need the use of the computer. We want you to be creative and discover new things!
- Can you follow a recipe from a cook book and bake/make something delicious with your household?
- Could you create your own recipe and write it up with an ingredients list and method? You could add step by step illustrations too.
- The birds are singing and the sun has been glorious recently, spring is certainly here! Look outside your window, or sit in the garden if it is still sunny, and draw or paint what you can see.
- Year 3 and Year 4, you are experts at the Writing Project now! So, you could write a wonderful spring poem using clines to help you with your vocabulary gathering. Find a thesaurus or ask an adult to help with finding synonyms. Try to include similes and metaphors along with a range of verbs and adverbs to describe the busy birds, bees and insects and growing plants around you.
Take a look at the practical Math activities and the home Science experiments. (Remember to help clean up afterwards if you have made a mess!)
Here is the knowledge organiser for the Science Plant topic we would have finished this half term.
Please keep up the reading and learning of your spellings and times tables.
We miss you all greatly but hope that you are having fun learning new things at home.
