Dear Parents,
I will be putting some home learning activities on the weekly learning pages for you to try with your child. These loosely represent the activities we would have been doing in school. The activities are not obligatory by any means, but you may find them useful and enjoyable!
Do please try if possible, to keep up some reading on a daily basis.
I have put the last few graphemes we have been learning in phonics in your children’s bookbags, for you to work on with the Word Making cards you already have. A very good website for phonics games is www.phonicsplaycomics.co.uk, which is free to use. I also suggest you google ‘Geraldine Giraffe’! The children love Geraldine and her little videos will supplement the phonic grapheme work we have been doing.
I will also put on some maths activities for you. In school, we use the White Rose Maths scheme as a basis for our planning. There is an excellent home leaning tab on their website, which you may like to access. https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/
Homework books are in the children’s bookbags. Please feel free to use this as a home learning book in whatever way you feel useful.
I do hope this information is helpful to you. Please do not feel under pressure to complete everything. Enjoy the time with your children. We have loved seeing them flourish and blossom over the past few months. Let’s all hope it is not long until we are all together as a class again.
Thank you for your continued support.
